Meet Mrs. Sitarski
My name is Mrs. Sitarski, ( I usually go by Sitarski) and I will be one of your teachers this year in English 9.
Some interesting facts about me:
-I was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. (home of Henry Ford, Greenfield Village). We moved to South Lyon 9 years ago.
-I married my high school crush! ( he did not know I existed in high school!)
-I was on the swim team, was a cheerleader, and did track in high school.
-I was on the Varsity Swim Team at Eastern Michigan University for 4 years!
-I graduated from Eastern Michigan with a degree in Elementary Education. I went back to Eastern to earn my certification in Cognitive Impairment and a Master’s in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
-I began my teaching career as a 1st grade teacher!
-I have a twin brother. He has a cognitive impairment/autism. My brother is why I am driven to see ALL students succeed!
-My mom was an elementary school teacher for 35 years, she is why I went into teaching.
-I have 2 daughters. Makayla is starting middle school this year at Centennial and Riley will be a 3rd grader at Bartlett. They both play travel softball and keep me very busy!
-I love all sports, especially Michigan Football-Go Blue. I also like to workout, run, and do triathlons.
-I have a dog (pit bull/mix) that is my baby boy! His name is Riggins, named after Tim Riggins from a show called Friday Night Lights.
-My husband is also a teacher. He teaches in Dearborn. He used to coach football at South Lyon, but my daughters became too active and he retired (for now). He is now coaching CrossFit at Grand Trunk.
-My favorite place in the whole world is the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I hope to retire there one day!
-This is my 16th year teaching! I teach a Social Communication, co-teach with Ms. Simpson (history), and I am in charge of the PEERS program. This is my first year in English 9 with Mr. Prueter and I am extremely excited to get to know all of you and your interesting facts! We will be learning together, because everything is new to me too!!!
